when in doubt, black

First off, Happy 2016 Loves! Super excited to start this new year off doing what I love & sharing with you my favorite looks. Can’t wait for all the new styles & outfits this year will bring. One thing I want to wish for you all is to be the best version of you. Always. Remember, you are beautiful no matter what, so don’t be shy to show off your outfits & smiles!

Let me just say that my favorite color is .. yup! you guessed it, black. If 98% of your closet is blacks & well, more blacks, your obsessed too. I think we can all agree, black matches perfectly with everything & goes great for any event or outing, formal or non-formal. Sometimes wearing all black, head to toe, feels a bit risky or dangerous, but it’s more of a statement than anything. So next time your in doubt, & you’re going through the 2-hour changing of clothes session happening in front of your mirror, just pull out the dark stuff & rock it girl! Also, add a fashion statement such as red lipstick, shades, or pointed-toe heels, & be bold!

autumn beef stew

hi sweets!

As much as I love pretty clothes & posting my favorite fashion looks, I also adore culinary shenanigans. This recipe was inspired by a dear friend of mine. I tweaked it a bit & added some of my favorite ingredients. About a year ago, I found a crockpot laying around at home and couldn’t imagine what I could possibly make that would taste declicious. The whole “the food cooks in its own juices” seemed too easy. The best thing about it is that it IS easy. Days are busy, so sometimes it gets hard to cook a full meal without spending hours of effort and time on it. With a crockpot, I simply chop up all the ingredients & throw them in. Hours later, I come home from whatever I was doing that day to the heavenly aroma of an easily-prepared dish. The ingredients listed below are all according to my taste buds, so feel free to add/subtract according to yours! 🙂 One more thing, have a blessed & sweet 2015 Thanksgiving with your families & loved ones. Happy Cookin  ♥Alina

1 lb beef  (favorite – steak meat)

1 medium carrot

1 celery stick

2 garlic cloves

1 medium onion

1 can mushrooms

3/4 can of corn

1/3 cup flour

3-4 bay leaves

2 tbsp tomato paste

3 cups hot water

salt, pepper, cayenee

any other seasonings you love

  1. Chop your preferred beef meat into thick, large pieces
  2. Cut carrot into rounds
  3. Halve the celery stick
  4. Peel garlic gloves (you will be throwing them in full)
  5. Peel & cut onion in half & slice it into half circles
  6. Mix 2 tbsps of tomato paste with 1/3 cup flour (i use a whisk, but a fork works just as well)
  7. Slowly pour 3 cups of hot water, while whisking
  8. Add all your seasonings (salt, pepper, cayenee) into the tomato paste mixture                                          Now it’s time to put it all together!
  9. Throw the meat, veggies, & tomato paste mixture into your crockpot
  10. Use a big spoon to mix everything together. Foods will start flying out, but don’t worry, it’s all part of the process 🙂 ( Add more hot water or flour to make the stew more or less thick – according your preferences.
  11. Top it off with a few bayleaves & set your crockpot to high heat for 5 hours.                                   When it’s all finished, I like to pour the stew over white rice or mashed potatoes.                                    Here’s to a hearty home cooked dish cooked simply. Enjoy ♥

whites and denim

Ello! Last couple weeks have felt insanely warm that I couldn’t help but wear lights, whites & denims. White brings out some kind of clarity in beauty & pureness in appearance & totally makes the autumn leaves pop in any picture (because that’s what we New Englander’s do in October) White on white is my favorite, but you gotta do it right. All white can make you look too bland. If you decide to wear a top and bottom that are both white, add some pop of color, dramatic lipstick, sequenced shoes, or an outstanding accessory. Never doubt all whites, & if you do, add some “you” that can make the look stand out. October is flying by and I’m loving the crisp leaves & sweet apple/pumpkin everything. Coming next week under “my table” will be a delicious recipe to my all time favorite, warm crockpot stew. Stay tuned 🙂 Happy Stylin! ♥Alina

love lace

Happy October beauties! Im still living in the summer of 2015 and reminicing sweet, warm days. Lace is always a good idea, especially during summer nights, its elegant but girly and flirty at the same time. It has this vintage feel to it that speaks bold but gentle. Topped this look off with my favorite leather jacket and a lady hat. Gotta fall into autumn soon, so i promise this is my last summer post. Happy Lacin’!   ♥Alina
